Know what counts as your wage. When figuring out what wage level can be used, be sure you know what your “salary” is. Bonuses, commissions and overtime don’t count toward the salary amount. If your base salary is $45,000 but you make upwards of $65,000 because of ovetime/bonus/commission, your salary is still only $45,000 because that is the guaranteed amount you make. Overtime/bonuses/commission are not guaranteed and can vary. For this reason, it is not considered as part of your salary. Remember, you gotta know what counts!
